Key Weird has some very famous animals. Besides the Hemingway 6 toed cats there the army that awakes you every morning all around town with his famous song. That's right, it's the Key West Eagle. also a shot of Greta who is very camera shy. When she sees a camera pointed at her she thinks "FLASH, turn head". Then there's the tabby asleep on the glass counter cantaining some of Hemingway's memorabilia.

Are you allowed to pet the cats? Did you?
And the rooster! Does he have any friends or is he a loner, a rebel?
Do they have those coqui things you like so much down there?

Yes you could pet the cats, if the cat let's you. The Key West Eagles are every where, even females with eaglets running around.

Dare I ask why you keep calling that an eagle? It is a rooster, you know.

Oh I see. A week at the keys in loud tourist shorts and now you're a Conch. I see.

You can only be a Conch if you were born in the Keys. I was born in Orange Memorial in Orlando, Florida. Therefore, I'm not a Conch, plus I wear only Colombia shorts in earthy tones.

Seems to me you had a fine time, Clark. I'm enjoying the photos and the repartee equally.

Clark, I have an Uncle that lived in Key West for many years.
I've seen the 6 toe cats.
Do they still have gator wrestling?

No gator wrestling in the Keys. They still do along the Tamiami Trail.

You could have brought back that proud tradition to the Keys, Clark. Grab a gator, slam him down, sit on him. Easy. In your Columbians, I bet you could pass as a zoo keeper kinda guy.

They don't have gators in the Keys. They have crocodiles. They'll slam you on the ground.

How about some pics of those tiny deer that we have to slow down for. I think that there are none. It's just an excuse to hand out speeding tickets.

We did not see any of those little Key deer. Binky, didja get a ticket? We saw them at the end of Seven Mile Bridge. They were just waving people over and giving them tickets.

No, I didn't get one only because I got stuck behind some #@$% that insisted on going the speed limit. I was just there for the day. Drove down from Miami in the morning, spent a long day in the Keys, and was driving back late at night. I just wanted to get back to the room.
So what are those things? Key Lime Deer. Small, green, make a good stew?
