Has anyone tried making hybrids with it? Every time I've tried it doesn't work, the reciprocal worked but I lost the pod at the end to rot. Any tricks or things I should know?

A handful of handsome hybrids have been made between this and Aërangis.

I've tried a few times, but nothing has taken yet. I would love to see Eurychone rothshildiana X Aërangis kotschyana made again, such a beauty! I will keep trying.

I'm not sure how to work on getting better breeding stock. The population Mike Blietz (Exotic Orchids of Maui) did a year or two ago were terrific. They grew fast, they were strong, and weren't shy about flowering. I suppose filtering out select plants and line breeding them or maybe colchine treat them might be a solution into getting good clones.

I have a clone that flowers 3x a year, I feel its a decent clone. Its not spectacular in the way of you instantly know it doesn't compare to every other roth, and I can't argue I should only be breeding those specific ones. Eurychone rothschildianum x Aerangis fastuosa (this one was a GOOD clone) was what I was attempting.
