Epidendrum sp in Ecuador

    This is a showy Epi species that we found one day growing on a very steep embankment. I don't know what species it is. This is a shot of one in the Ecuagenera greenhouses.

    Woah, thats really cool. I've never seen a lip like mariae on anything else in the epi/encyclia family...well than mariae

    From what I can see of the foliage, it is very much like a Trichopilia.

    It does indeed look very much like a trichopilia; is there a shot of the plant itself?

    I don't have a picture of the plant but it basically looks like a Cattleya with slightly softer leaves.
