My E. parkinsonianum has grown way off it's mount and I would like to take some divisions. However, there are no roots other than on the mount. Is there a way to encourage rooting on some of the lower portions or can I cut off a piece and get it to root after cutting? Any particular time of year the best? Any advice is appreciated.

Are the growths with no roots new growths?

Maybe you could attach the growths you want to divide to a new, separate mount but leave them attached to the main plant for a while. The added moisture from the new mount may stimulate root growth.
