This is a neat species. My plant is blooming on a 4" plant, but I've seen plants up to 10 inches tall. This species comes from Mexico in pine forests.

Bill, that is very nice. I have heard they are slow growers. Has that been your experience? I'm assuming it likes your cool conditions?

Kelly, this is the first blooming for me on a seedling that I got at about 2 inches tall. I've had it just over a year, and the blooming growth is four inches. Hard to say if it's slow growing. It does seem to like cool temperatures, but not sure if it needs it. The only other blooming one I've seen was at Dexters, and his greenhouse is unheated.
