Is anyone successfully growing this and willing to trade a cutting or division?

Not an easy one for me. That one I got from Ecuagenera last year took a very long time to get established. I still don't like their seedlings, mine still has no markings on the leaves. I am looking for a source for a nice clone as well.

The brighter you grow it the darker the markings, though some do just have better markings. I've gotten nice ones from Orquideas del Valle. The are difficult to establish and don't like the roots disturbed once they are established.

    Thanks Tom and Marni.
Would you compare it to Epidendrum medusae as far as establishment and growing conditions? I bought an E. medusae cutting at POE last year. I mounted it horizontally on tree fern and it looked great ... until it suddenly died. I was hoping the E. escobarianum might be easier. I really like plants with this type of growth habit.

I got a cutting through a friend , but originally J&L orchids, I'm almost positive.
I've had it for 3 years now,so it has survived the grueling NY summers so far.
I presently have it mounted on a piece of cedar, and roots are growing all over it (always a good sign!)

Darrin Norton of Mountain Orchids has a very nice clone with dark markings, you might check with him.

Thanks for the post. Are those buds at the apex of the lower cane?
