This particular plant is Encyclia orchid Jungle x self. The flowers show very little of the phoenicia parent and look like a very good alata. The flowers in this plant are incredibly flat with just a bit of curl in the edges of the floral segments. The inflorescence is three feet tall and has 39 flowers. The flowers are fragrant. Ricardo, do you grow this outside? It really is a rich dark color with wonderful contrast.

I grow it outside. It is in a position in the shade house where it gets full sun from around 8 to 10 am. Then the rest of the day it gets sunlight filtered through shadecloth. The flowers have always had this dark color although when the plant was younger the flowers were smaller.
