    try not to turn the pot as the spike is developing.
    This way is fine too; both head-on and profile is visible at once!

    The pot was in the same orientation the entire life of the plant, never turned

    If you use a taller stake you can clip it at the flower base without hurting the flower thus redirecting is a cinch!
