Diplocaulobium chrysotropis

    Not certain of the ID, but that's what it came labeled as. Several of these seem very similar. Under my conditions the flowers last 5-7 days and it blooms a few times a year. Photos 8 Sept 2011 and 20 Mar 2010 (closeups).

    Nice blooming for the size of the plant! I have a much bigger plant but I only get few flowers at a time.

    Do you grow it bright? TIA

    Great flowering! - very nice!... "flowers last 5-7 days" this is as well amazing usually in this genus few hours????

    Thanks, Tom. Yes, I grow it quite bright. Fertilize ~ 2 out of 3 waterings with Dyna-Gro 7-9-5 at 0.5 tsp / gal with 0.25-0.5 tsp PROTEKT to bring up the pH.

    From what I'd read I was expecting only 1-3 days for this species. Whether it's this particular clone or the conditions, I don't know, but they always last at least 5 days and sometimes a week before they show any signs of fading.

    nice have to have a look around, anfd get it ;-) My phalangium is only one day display...
