I've been eyeing this specimen for a while on Orchidweb and finally got it since it was on sale. It has a gorgeous root system! Really looking forward to getting it to spike. I have three others of the same species, with one of them being at least half of the size of this one.

Nice plant. Also available on lists of some Asian vendors for a fraction of that price ;)

Honestly, I have no doubt they are set at a cheaper price. I just dislike buying plants that will endure such a long trip. I have the worst luck in terms of how bad it shows up at my doorstep.

I've come across a lowii at some vendor online. It believe it's flowering size for a very nice price, but I literally can never find any reviews for the nursery in Thailand.

Yes for 400$ OR was it 350 $. I tried to lower the price but couldn't. :)

Hi there, new to this forum; came across your post in a search for Dimorphorchis species plants (or preferably compots, flasks) and wonder if you could point me to those "Asian vendors" mentioned above? Of course your huge plant is drool-worthy but I have learned that I can only grow Vandacaeous orchids in what's water culture in my conditions -- but as I've grown Vanda coerulea from deflask to bloom, based on what I know of Dimorphorchis species they make good candidates and I'm hankering to try. Any help appreciated! Thank you and best wishes with your big NBS prize there.

Hi there, please see my message to the OP above... would be happy to know who these Asian vendors are and how to contact them, if you are willing to share. Thank you.

There is currently a U.S. eBay selling that are selling "more than 10". 100% feedback, with 905 transactions. It's for lowii which is more difficult to come by.

I have two lowii and they seem to grow even slower than rossii. Nonetheless, they are incredible slow growers. I get more root growth than anything.

Personally, I would not grow these in water culture. They do great in high light, high humidity. Mine thrive in 95% humidity.
