I got this as D. warrenii from Popow 2 years ago. It vegetatively grows well, but this is the first bloom and only 1 inflorescence. There isn't much information about this species. Does anyone grow this? Any tips? I wasn't interested in Dendrochilum too much until recently, so don't know much about them.

I looked at the original illustration and description (I think you can get the original description from this link). Most things seem to match well except the lip shape. It is supposed to be pointy, but mine seems to show the rounded tip of the lip. So I'm not completely sure about the ID. It is kind of difficult to see the shape in the photo, but any opinions?

Here is the dissected flower. Dorsal sepal, right petal, right lateral sepal, and floral bract showing adaxial (front) surface. Left petal and left lateral sepal showing abaxial (back) surface. The ruler on the top is metric, and each increment is 1mm.

Here is the lip; left showing the abaxial surface (bottom side), and right showing the adaxial surface (top side) with the keels (supposed to be 2 side keels and smaller keels in the middle).

Here is the lip of the original illustration. You can see the pointy tip. The description mentions irregular (erose) margins. My plant only shows irregular margins only near the base half (around the place which looks like lateral lobes) and the tip has smooth margins (entire). Overall shape is slightly different, too.

So this one from Popow is possibly a different species.

I have the same plant. I haven't done anything about the ID. I would suggest you send you images to Jim Cootes.
