    An improvement over last year, when I got only one flower. Grown intermediate, under LEDs and dry in the winter.

    I consider any blooming of Dendrobium senile a victory to be celebrated.

    I have tried every possible combination of conditions with no success with blooming. The only think I can’t do is grow it warm. I may try the compost bin as the next option

    Don't give up! I'm still learning, but I can detail my conditions if that helps. I give it warm summers with temps around 19-28C (66-85F) and an abundance of water as the canes grow and fatten up. In the winter, temperatures aren't really cool...but intermediate, 16-22C (60-70F) and I cease watering for about 1.5-2 months. The buds begin appearing in January/February. Grown under lights at a PPFD of around 120, photoperiod 12 hour winters, 15 hour summers. 70% humidity year around

    Thanks Calvin, Do the growths stop growing and leaves start to senesce before you stop watering? Even though my winter night temps were lower than yours (52-55), most of the growths still seemed to be growing, so I reduced water but didn’t do a hard dormancy. Maybe next year I’ll bring it into the house where it is warmer and maybe the lower humidity will make it think...time to stop growing.

    Mine was fine and bloomed every year for several years in your temperature range in winter. Gave it a hard dry rest with indirect blight light until you see the flower buds.

    However, I lost it one summer.

    Think I killed mine thinking a cool dry rest would assist in flowering. Hopefully it comes back.

    I had the same debate as it seemed mine were still going, and I think I somewhat forced the dormancy by reducing water until it was bone dry for two months. It never got too cool but definitely did get dry. The canes just stiffened up and dropped leaves. Maybe they just need that dry curing that gets them to mature and flower
