Well done, DB. Great flowers on cool furry pbs. Hope mine will flower this year. Sigh. Otherwise, wait another year. Only had it one year now (in my defence).
    9 flowers, blimey.

Thanks again everyone! I forgot to mention one thing...I grow this plant under lights which might not mean much to people until you go and look at other peoples plants that are grown under lights...It seems that they always bloom better if they are grown that way for some reason

Do you keep it in the same place under the lights, year round? And do you put it really really close to the lights? I'm planning to move mine to lower light in another month or so, maybe sooner since it is growing leaves now. thanks

    Thanks Tom!

MrB, don't move it to lower light! I gave mine bright light all year round. I had it outside during the summer and it got direct light from 8am till about 12 to 1pm, then dappled light. When I brought it inside I put it at the level of the lights (I use 100w equivalent cfl's) about 6 inches away at the farthest point. I think the bright light all year round is why it has bloomed so well. Think about it, when a plant is actively growing it is photosynthesizing and making food for itself, so the more light it gets the more food (without burning it of course) This plant can take the high light while it is growing, so that's what it gets. More food = more flowers. You can give it as much light as you want in the winter but if it doesn't have any leaves, it isn't doing much food wise (For example, I keep my Lycaste aromatica on the top of my light stand all winter long, it gets no light and still blooms fine in the spring because I gave it Catt light the whole time it was growing). I say give it as bright as it can take without stunting the growths or burning it and you should have no problem getting it to bloom.

    Great advice, thanks!
Maybe I'll try to find a place to grow it outside this year. However it would only take one chomp from a tree-rat to destroy it. I don't tend to put plants that I really like, outside, for that reason. Damn them!
