Lot of D lawesii in bloom now. This is my favorite red/orange bicolor clone.
Nice one, Marni.
Wish I had the space to grow these...thanks for sharing with us Marni
nice! bicolors are my favorite too.
space? just tie them upright and they only take up vertical space!!
The colours on this are very unusual! is it the picture, or the tips are really that shade of soft yellow/cream? I have 2 bicolors of that king , but they are more of a bright golden yellow/red bicolor. I also note the flowers on yours open widely, for me in general only the concolor red/orange have such flat flowers!
here are my 2 current yellow/red bicolour. the first picture if of a newly purchased one, some of it's flowers are almost solid yellow.
Laurent, I've had trouble with color shift in different browsers (especially Firefox), but it isn't golden yellow. I've seen quite a few that are red with a soft orange or yellow orange. Here is another bicolor in bloom right now. This one doesn't open very widely. Sorry about the copyright in the middle of the image, it was made for use elsewhere.
Your mostly yellow clone is really different. Haven't seen anything like that before. I don't see a pod on that one yet.
They are all lovely!
I just love this species!
I hurried taking some pictures before pollinating it ;-)
I tried 3 crosses with cuthbertsonii, 1 with laevifolium and 1 with a purple/white bicolor lawesii.
