First bloom for me on this species...I think the flower has more color than many clones I've seen. Interesting to know how many have had long term success and how dry of a winter rest you give it.

That's a nice one, very pink. I've heard not much of a rest, but I guess I'll find out this winter.

Nice bloom:clap:. Cost here about 80 Eur for 3 bulbs. Thats too risky for me:(.
Do you grow it on the cold side?

Hi Sam, yes that would be too risky for me as well. I purchased mine from Andy's Orchids in the US and it was probably 1/3 of the price. After reading about the conditions in nature and seeing how Andy grows them, I am trying cool, bright and dry for the Winter and warmer with plentiful moisture during the Spring and Summer growing season.

Thanks everyone for the comments...I was at Andy's and almost didn't get one as he had a good supply of them and when trying to stick to a budget, I always get the ones that are in short supply first . Well, I'm glad I got it. I sent a photo to Andy and he said he hasn't bloomed one with that much color.

    A function of environmental factors?

I’ve seen a lot more of this species posted in the last couple years. Here is an update of the one I posted nearly 3 years ago. Still growing int-cool and a little on the dry side during the Winter.

Thanks everyone! Bill, I’m not sure what the trick is for blooming. It does get full-sun. This time of year it is getting watered everyday, but is probably completely dry by afternoon. I do water a bit less in the Winter, but not a true dry spell as some other Dendrobium species like.
