A division of Jim Rose's mother plant. This is potted in coarse bark & enjoys high humidity, relatively high light (more than it wants I believe), intermediate to warm temps. Its growth habit suggests that mounting or a basket might be more appropriate than a pot. I have several seedlings, some of which have also bloomed, so I think experiment a bit with a few of them. I'm a sucker for Cyrtorchis, and this is one of my favorites.

I love it. I still need to get one or three.

Gorgeous! Mine seems reluctant to bloom this year. I was actually considering much higher light -- so it is interesting to hear that yours doesn't seem to like the higher light levels. I know I'll sound like Jacob (which isn't a bad thing), but could you quantify the light levels for me? Even just what it grows next to if you don't have (or want to get out) the light meter?

I'm going by leaf color alone, which is a pale yellow green, when I suggest it might be receiving too much light. This is the second of six that has bloomed this year and several others are in spike now, so maybe the light's ok.

I don't have a light meter so no light quantification today. It grows next to Ang. sesquipedale seedlings, Ancistrochilus rothschildianus which are blooming nicely, some Ang. rutengergianum seedlings. I've got to spring for a light meter one of these days.

Thanks for the detail -- that tells me what I need to know. I think I'll move mine to more light and see if that sparks some blooming. :)

    How big are your plants?
