Cycnoches cooperi

    Warm/Hot grower. Water and fert like a mad person after its got a couple inches of roots on the new growth, then completely hold water after the leaves drop, usually around December/January.

    This is a first time bloomer, the large specimens can be extraordinarily impressive.

    Flowers last about 10 days, but will fade in 24 hours if the pollinia is detached. Like many of the other Catasetinae, Cycnoches are sexually dimorphic. These are male flowers. Female flowers are usually far fewer in number, and last about 3-4 weeks

    From the label, I see that this is from Fred Clarke's (Sunset Valley Orchids) breeding. Very fine color on these! You're right that these are very impressive once they mature it bit...huge pendulous spikes of flowers!

    Yes Peter you are correct. This is the Mem Pat Worthington x Dark Chocolate. I have 3 more from some of the other crosses that are about to bloom too.
