Common buckeye butterfly

    This butterfly has a large range that includes much of the USA and Mexico. It is common in this region (N. California). Based on my reading tonight, it sounds like those of you in Florida probably see lots of these.
    Today at least 2 of these spent a lot of time feeding on Sedum nectar in my backyard. It tolerated my presence very well and allowed me to get numerous close-ups.

    Beautiful butterfly and very well catched. The first one overall sharp. Nice.
