    Hello new member, like your avitar, where did you find it? I don't remember seeing them any where in NYC when I lived there, probably are on Long Island though. I am fond of Coelogyne as well and our native orchids.

    LONG time writing you back...(I haven't gotten on the forum for some time now!), yes, Cypripedium acaule can still be found within the city limits (a jealously guarded secret for a few...) But they are abundant on Long Island in certain acidic woodlands...the photo was from a plant on Long Island.
