I bought this about 5 years ago from Hans Herman label Coelogyne salvaneianum and is most likely from the Philippines. It took me this long to bloom it. Anyone know what it is?

Very nice! I wish I got in this colours one. It is a lot of varieties similar to your plant Marni. I am rather very suspicious about them, they appears during last few years. And I would not be surprised if all of them are some intermediate forms or even hand made crosses, I saw in one collection 4 or 5 different but very similar plants... differs mostly only by shades and colours on the lip

Yours looks a lot like vanoverberghii and a bit like confusa, first is most likely more close. so wonder if anybody will do genetics on them, actually it should be done already in Holland - Leiden univ., so for me this is aff. vanoverberghii.

I have two plants of this kind so far flower one of it last year my appears to be closer to confusa:

So far any of my 2 plants wont grow this year don't know why... maybe they need bit more time...

Thanks, Piotr. I like the green tepals on yours. I've just tried to send an email to Jim Cootes to see if he knows anything about it, but the email I have bounced. If anyone has his current mail, please send my a private message.

Hi there marni i think this is Coelogyne salvaneraniana, I brought hanses farm 1 1/2 years ago and moved it east I found quite a lot of the plants there and yes it is from the Philippines named after Rey Salvaner the first, it is quite a new species i think it was named by Wally Suarez.

Ps you can find Jim and Wally on Facebook
