I had always dreamed about Coel. ecarinata, because of its colour and maybe bit overrated and pictured charm; still it is an interesting and reflowering from same spike Coelogyne. Since I have as well one of my other favorite Coelogyne in flower at the same time - barbata, it is worth compare how different they are. Coel barbata has as well amazing fragrance of apples.

I especially like the ecarinata for the extending inflorescence and the saturated color. Beautiful photos, too.

I'm happy to see you back participating on the forum.

Hi Piotr, your ecarinata is still the darkest I have seen. After seeing your previous post (approximately a year ago), I hung mine in full sun, hoping the additional light may darken the blooms a bit. Four spikes, but still about a month away.

last year I did pulchella x ecarinata - seeds are still maturing - thats long process
this year - barbata x ecarinata - I am on it. I would dream to get pink Coelogyne from any of these two combinations - more excited about this one actually , I think seedpod setting up slowly ;-P
