So a cochleanthes Amazonica I was gifted 2 1/2 years ago finally has a flower stalk/bud (I apologize for not knowing the proper terminology). When I received it, it had only one tiny fan of leaves, so I'm very excited that it has lived and put out several more fans and is finally about to bloom. My question is how long can I expect the flower to last? Of course, I will find out in due time, but who can wait? :)

Also, a healthy plant will make many flower stems from each growth. Once you have several growths on it, it can be in flower for half the year or more. I love mine.

Ooo, thanks. Mine is still small, but it was tiny when I potted it up, and it's still growing, so I have hopes.
