Can't wait for the buds to open! this particular clone is much darker/more colorful than my previous one, and flower count per spike isn't bad either!

grown in medium bright light, cool-intermediate temperature, almost always moist, in a small net pot with a bit of sphagnum around the (few) roots. I find that species difficult to acclimatize from newly imported plants - often they don't have any roots - but once new roots begin to grow, they are good and easy growers.

Amazing. My plant is approaching bloom, too. I've never seen it before.

Thanks for the hint about correct identification! I've checked, and indeed my paler clone has flat, quite soft leaves, while this deep blue one has terete and more rigid leaves. I should relabel it C. gokusingii!

ohhhh, this is a wonderful specie, congratulations, I look forward the picture of the opened flowers !
I have had one potted plant that used always to bloom, after 3 years it has dead so I've recently bought another plant (big plant) on cork slab I hope to see some bud soon.
I wish my new plant is more succesful than the previous

I bought my first one at POE last March, bare root {no roots} and potted in a 2in. clay pot with moss. Intermediate temps, bright indirect light, it bloomed last May and is in spike again now. after I saw the photo of Pacome's in spike I wanted to pull mine out of the pot to see if it had made roots yet, thats when I saw it was in spike again, so I left it alone. So blue, so beautiful!

It's reassuring to hear that others have found that re-establishing them yields sparse root growth initially. I haven't been too worried about mine, but it has taken longer than I expected for my stem cutting to grow new roots. I mounted mine on cork with coco-fibre, but after waiting for 5 months to see any new roots, I added a layer of NZ sphagnum (for short term) on top of the root zone. Now I have 3 lovely roots coming out. :)

Great, now I have to figure out if I have an outcross or a hybrid in the pods I set. Fortuantely, both are in bloom again so I'll look closely.
