Clarice found an ant nest

    She's uncomfortable, but isn't in distress. I gave her an antihistamine immediately, of course.

    Oh, poor baby! She just looks pitiful. Ants are devil spawn; I know this first hand m'self. I'm sure she's getting extra love, but give her a lil hug from me, too.

    what kind of ants do that, sting, bite, allergic reaction? what? poor baby!

    Awwwww....... poor girl. You don't have fire ants up there, do you? The same thing happened to my Molly 4 yrs ago.

    The only ants I find around here are very small. Too small to pierce skin with a bite. They do, however, emit an unpleasant scent when disturbed; quite possibly formic acid. I presume Clarice had a reaction to that repellant. All of the dogs have experienced the same thing; usually just once.

    No fire ants here.

    She still looks funny, but better this morning.

    oh poor little Clarice ... she looks like she went a few rounds with Mike Tyson (except she still has both ears) .... so glad to read she is doing better Dale - give her a cuddle from us please
