Natural park since 1985,portion North-West of Serra da Sincorà (1520 km2). This is the rain season, these photos has shot by my boyfriend Danilo during his walk in this green isle into Caatinga.
The climatic conditions of the mountainous areas are completely different from the plains: The clouds condense on the mountain slopes without stopping on the plains generating frequent rain and humidity. So we have a green mountainous vegetation and Caatinga, deciduous and thorny vegetation in arid plains.

The temperatures on the montains are about min 20 C° max 27 C° in this period.

Sorry I'm not sure to understanding that you want say,if I understand a little, litophyte Laelias can live in full sunny and partial shade, Laelia sincorana lives also in epiphyte on Vellotia and in this case it is more shade than on rocks. Years ago this specie found only on Vellotia and it was seriously threatened by the fires, fortunately it was able to adapt to epiphyte ..... observing its habitat we can see as Laelia Rupicolous, in coltivation, mustn't kept dry as we read in many books (at least those available to us in Europe)

i was just amazed at it growing on the rock, in the sun.
i personally have killed 2 trying to adapt them to more sun.

it is just happy right where it should be.
