A few years back I started binge shopping for Cattleya warscewiczii and they are starting to do very well. The more of them I bloom the more I like this species. The first one is an outcross from Orquifollaje of Colombia and the second is a coerulea from Colomborquideas also from Colombia. The coerulea doesn't come through well in the image, but it is lovely in person.

Impressive! Not exactly a typical Marni plant though...

it is stunning! May I ask what is so appealing in this species to you comparing to other Cattleyas?

I don't know that I can answer that question. Maybe it is because almost all I have bloomed have been stunning. Maybe it is because I can identify it without looking at the label. Why do I prefer chocolate ice cream to vanilla? I just do and I can't tell you why.

You have good taste! I've been staying away from large Cattleyas but am ready to get one (or a few).

Oh my! That coerulea is awesome! I hear this species can get rather large flowers on big mature plants. What are the ns of these seedlings on their first blooming? Good promise of things to come??
