    Gorgeous. I would try this one, but reading about it makes me think that in my hands it would die in short order. Have you been able to keep individuals of this species alive over long time periods?

    Dave, I received this plant as a $6 NBS seedling from Oak Hill Gardens on 05/02/1985. It's always been mounted on tree fern and has bloomed every year since it became mature. I purchased an additional mature plant in 1988. It was potted and survived about five years.

    Thanks, Dale. Summertime temps here often top 100 degrees. I wonder if this species could thrive with those temps (though it usually cools dramatically at night to about 60, so that might help).

    I don't think my plant's ever experienced 100°F, so I'm not much help with that, Dave.
