This is not the first time I have bloomed this species, but it is the first time I have photographed.

    Awesome!!! Early bloomer!

This is one of the catt species where the absolute best examples are still the ones that were found in the wild, in most cases decades ago.

    Glad you like it.

Chris, I bought this and a couple others from Orquideas del Valle at the end of a show. I didn't think to ask if this was seed grown or divisions. A friend told me that it is one of the most variable species, so now I'm anxious to see what else blooms.

I like that lip too! What temps does this get under your conditions?

Bleecker, it is up about 9 or 10 feet off the floor so I'm not exactly sure of the actually minimum/maximum. It is in the path of my only fan that is up high and I get pretty good mixing of the air from this. I would guess in the 56-58 minimum to 85 or so maximum. I had a little heater trouble last week and I know it went to 45 a couple of nights. I'll scrounge up another thermometer and put it up there for a couple of days.
