I couldn't believe this was blooming in my greenhouse. It was an unlabeled plant from a "rescue collection" that I acquired last summer. The flower is just under 4" and so far I haven't been able to detect a fragrance. Maybe it needs to be warmer for that.

Shows what I know about Cattleya species. I've never grown either nor have I paid much attention. Perhaps I can get an update on the thread title so I don't look so ignorant.

Right now it isn't a very robust plant. I have this tagged as a back up division, so maybe later. Eventually I will find where the main plant is an hopefully it will be looking better. I do want to see if I can grow it with my conditions.

It should smell like corn tortillas! It is definitely C. schilleriana, as Dale said.

Yes, it does smell in the afternoon, quite like a tortilla.
