It's Cattleya Day in the Looking Glass...

Here is C mossiae Reineckiana, which is rapidly turning into a monster. Currently sporting 21 open flowers, each with a wingspan of 6". Lightly fragrant.

It doesn't have the best form, unfortunately. The dorsal sepal is too recurved, IMO.

I didn't see it before, things are speeding by too fast. I like it and want to know what it is growing on.

That's really nice, Alexis. Thank you for sharing. I didn't see it, either.

Man, that's nice. If ever a hunk falls off, I have a spare hydrolog sittin' empty...

    It's beautiful, Alexis.

    Thanks, guys.

Marni, it's growing on a tubular-shaped mount I made of hardware cloth, and then wrapped in coconut fiber. My shadehouse is too wet for potted Cattleyas, so this is how I grow most of the big ones. It's been a great compromise, and the plants have adapted well to being mounted.

MJ, I'll keep you in mind if it ever spits out a division!
