Cattleya mendelii

    A Colombian species with large, fragrant, long-lasting flowers. The flowers on this blooming are 5.5" but they can be up to 8" (not necessarily on a plant in my greenhouse). I really haven't seen other clones, but I wish it would be a bit more open.

    Well-bloomed, Marni! I think many other clones have that property of the petals falling forward. Still, lovely.
