Cattleya intermedia v. orlata

    I bought this one last year when we were in Melbourne, FL. Goodlove&Son/Palm Bay Orchids.

    This is the first time it has bloomed for me. Flowers are ~4" all around.

    That's pretty nice, Mary Jane. My plant had one stinkin' flower and it certainly wasn't a four incher.

    Awesome flowers MJ, but this isn't an orlata. Orlatas have color that same deep lip color that goes around the edges of the lip sidelobe. It is, however, an excellent intermedia. I would love to see more plants like this on this forum :)

    Thanks, everyone. I have a var. orlata from Chris that hasn't bloomed yet. I'm very pleased with this flower even if it isn't labeled correctly. Thank you all for your nice comments.

    I remember that plant being caerulea and aquinii, it's labeled as orlata too?? :) (I never saw it bloom).

    No hell no, it's aquinii, I just checked. I was going on memory. Obviously, I'm running low. :D
