    First blooming. To me the fragrance is reminiscent of certain soaps. Love the lip. IMG_5176.JPG

    Ricardo, I'm not seeing your image, but I would ask that you don't try to fix it as I have asked Brent to take a look. I don't think it is you, but the software. I was looking forward to seeing this one.

    I can see it. I hope you can fix the glitch. This one is certainly not FCC material but just blooming it makes me happy. Perhaps in future bloomings when the plant is larger and stronger the flowers will get better.

    I use google chrome browser. I tried Internet explorer and I can also see the flowers ok with that one.

    I love the look but I find this plant extremely difficult as compared to most other Cattleya species. I have a plant that I obtained fifteen years ago as a seedling. Growth has been unrealistically slow and it has never flowered. I should toss it and try another on but I have a sentimental attachment.

    Your plant is stunning.

    I love Cattleya dowiana, and I have a lot of hybrids with it.
    That is Cattleya dowiana var. aurea
