Alexis asked me where I grow my catt species. Here it is. Nothing fancy at all. Lighting is a 400 watt full spectrum MH bulb.

Hey Chris...I think the couple in the front row need to be repotted as the pots they are in look a little small :poke: just kidding

Nice setup, do you find the MH gives off a lot of heat the dries your grow area out fast?

Who says you have to go all out to grow orchids. The old KISS principal does just fine.

Aren't you wasting a shelf? Why not put the light up on the top shelf. Move the Cattleyas up one shelf and adjust the height as necessary. Then you could put some lower light plants on the shelf that currently has the Cattleyas.

Pook, there's really not much light makes it through the pots.

Jon, Yeah, the RH goes from about 55-70%. The plants seem to love it.
