This is a decidous Calanthe species purchased from Han Hermans as Calanthe cardioglossa. No surprise it isn't C cardioglossa, but I don't know what it is. Flower is about 2.25" wide.

I agree, it is a wonderful color. It would have had more flowers, but I splashed it with water and lost them.

I've got one that's very very similar, and I'd bet this is the same species: Calanthe rosea.

Thanks, Sue, I looked that up and I agree. Now I just have to learn to grow it better.

I think you have a Calanthe rosea hybrid, but with what I am not sure. Could it be with cardioglossa?

Thanks for the input, Brett. I'll have to check in to it. I'm not sure that it isn't C rosea, but if not, I don't think cardioglossa is involved since it has a distinctly lobed lip.
