I love this orchid, unfortunately its pretty erratic when it comes to sumatra0.jpg blooming. I never know when it will produce flowers. However it appears that there is a slightly higher than average chance of seeing flowers in the month of March. The flowers show some variation from year to year. bulbophyllumsuma-001.jpg

To me it smells slightly fishy, as I think Aquaman would smell when just out of the ocean.

Another great flower to add to the other great orchid posts on the forum. Love this site for the exposure to orchids that are not seen in every box store. Love it.

The Bulbophyllum group has many odd and wonderful flowers, some have been know to raise a real stink in orchid shows.
