Congratulations! I've still not seen the flowers in person. Does the mount ever dry out? And what are your temperatures?

    Thanks, Marni
I try to keep it moist, but it does dry out from time to time. It sits on a clay pot, which can be filled with water.
I have set a minimum temperature of 16 degrees Celsius, but due to a defect on the thermostats it was much warmer for a while this winter. Perhaps that did the trick... don‘t know. Anyway, I‘m quite pleased with the result :)

    Wow!
    Congratulations!
I have tried it in a past, and lost it.
    I think I cooked it. :(
    Your blooms are so pretty.
    How large is the plant?
I know there are not much of info available in this species.
    Thank you for posting Leo.

    Thank you!
The part which is flowering has six pseudobulbs. Interestingly, it seems to dislike its mount somehow. It sits on a clay pot lined with a layer of felt. The roots don‘t really grow into the felt, as I thought they would. Surprising, that it actually flowered anyway.

Congratulations Leo, you have a very happy and healthy looking kubahense. How long have you had it, did the plant take long to adjust to your growing conditions?
I recently obtained a kubahense plant growing on a three inch diameter moss pole with five bulbs with leaves and another just starting to develop. I would be gratetful if you can tell me of any special needs that this plant needs.

Hi Bernard, I got mine in 2014, so it took a while for it to get going. I have them on a felt on clay pots, which provide the required moisture. In summer when it‘s hot and dry and when I have no time to water every day, they suffer. I don‘t think they need a lot of light. It looks like they just need tome to get established. One of mine has already set up a spike.

Yes, recently received an import from Lourens Grobler with rugosibulbum, expallidum, bavonis, intertextum, longiflorum, subclavatum and stolzii.
The expallidum already produces a spike.
