Bulbophyllum frostii

    The main appeal of this species are the 1" flowers that resemble dutch clogs, though the thick blue-green leaves are nice as well. Apparently the "fragrance" varies a bit with this species. This one smells rather musty and kind of unpleasant, but a clone I grew over a decade ago smelled like truly rancid garbage. The exterior of the buds and flowers is quite rough and feels like five o'clock shadow.

    I grow it bright, moist (dries out some between waterings), intermediate.

    Jealous! I have a lovely clone of this that has grown very well for several years without a sign of even trying to produce a single bud!
