So here's the deal. I have this bulbo species that's spiking. Until the flowers open, I'll post a daily photo of the spike/bud cluster. Whoever guesses the species wins a plant from my GH (plant to be determined later...). Everyone is encouraged to participate, but since I can only ship plants to the continental US, the recipient must live somewhere in the lower 48. If someone from elsewhere wins, I'll send a plant to the person of their choosing (unless that person lives in Rhode Island).

The species in the photos hasn't bloomed for me yet, and it was from a 2008 import. Kew recognizes it as a valid species, and images I've found on the interwebs match this plant vegetatively.

    Here's today's photo.

    Bulbophyllum wakoi (?)
I have seen already a red colored form of it, but I never saw one with a red inflorescence, so I'm not sure about the name.

Never heard of bulbophyllum wakoi. It isn't that then. It isn't decurviscapum either.

That must really suck, Bri. Can't you just step across the state line, make your guess, then go home?

subumbellatum only carries 2-3 flowers per inflorescence.
