Brassavola nodosa '#2'

    Here's a picture of my Brassavola nodosa '#2' which is in bloom. Don't let the un-sexy cultivar name of '#2' fool you. This is one of the better shaped nodosa that I've seen. It can have a nearly flat shape (but not always). The flowers are over 5" wide. Also, check-out the purple spots that extend out of the lip throat onto the edge of the lip (this is unusual). For breeding, I'm hoping that this "extra purple spotting" many be able to translate into more richly colored Brassavola hybrids.

    I originally got this cultivar from Sentinel Orchids in PA.
