After many years of searching I finally found a tiny population of a white form of this normally pink to lilac species. Aggravatingly, most of the flowers were damaged by a beetle that eats orchid buds. But I did manage to find a plant with presentable flowers. In Puerto Rico the white form of this species is extremely rare in the wild. Seeds were collected from this population and maybe in the future there will be plants in captivity. patula2.jpg
