Barkeria scandens

    For some reason, pink flowers are always relatively easy to photograph for me.

    EDIT - Hmm... I think I have to tone down the size of my portrait style pics. This one gets auto-resized by the forum, and it detracts from the photo quality. Try clicking on the picture in the pop-up to enlarge it to actual size. I'll know better than to make large portrait pics in the future.

    I think I have to tone down the size of my portrait style pics. This one gets auto-resized by the forum Are you saying that photos over a certain size get resized by the forum? If so what size did you post and to what size did it get changed?

    What is the trick to getting Barkerias to bloom? I have one that grows nice but no blooms except for a couple last year that looked like they came through a malfunctioning Transporter beam.

    The original portrait picture is 645x970, and it got resized to 551x828 pixels.

    I put this one in lots of sun with large temp swings. It's right up against a wall and in front of my evap cooler. Ursula led me to believe these things need a little abuse in order to flower. She was right.


    Ya know, I'm not sure. I've not noticed a smell on this one.
