Barbosella sp

    I suspect comparing to what found online form of B. cucullata or B.dolichorhiza. Sepals 2cm, Petals 1cm anyone can comment?

    It is the yellow form of B. cuculata IMO. Good luck with it. It is a horrible grower for me.

    I couldn't get it to do much either. It grew in spurts, then sulked. We finally parted ways last year.

    B cucullata is variable in size and color and the most frequently encountered in the trade.

    It's looks awfully close to both but I'd lean towards cuccullata due to its availability within the hobby.

    I think that is what he is saying, but doesn't that mean that if there is no defining feature, but a blending, that it is all one species?

    Good question, most likely it should be one sp with 3 varieties if it is only size what distinguish them, for example biggest would be B. cucculta var cucculata, interm B. cucculata var dolichoglottis, and smallest B. cucculata var prorepens ;-)

    I would say so.

    I agree Piotr. They should be demoted to subspecies of B. cucullata as it seems to me that they're incompletely speciated.

    I don't know much about the B. dolichoglottis but I am not sure you should lump B. prorepens into B. cucullata. There are some significant differences, in terms of growth, B. prorepens is more like a crawler and the flower, well, you might have to look at it closely in person.

    Just checked and I still have a piece of B. dolichoglottis from Lynn O'shaughnessy years ago. It is not doing great but the plant doesn't look like those on your photos.

    well I found this sp if kept dryer loosing leaves as trees on autumn... but if put very close to humidifier is doing ok, problem now is hardness of my water...
