    After 9 years, I finally bloomed this species from Malala. I was asking for an ID, but a friend told me it is Angraecum lecomtei. It opened pure white but is starting to take on a bit of a peachy tone, not clearly visible in the images. It has a heavenly fragrance!!!

    Wow...9 years, so I have hope for mine, I have only it still 7 years...!!!:p
    Did you change anything in your growing conditions which could explain that it decides to bloom??

    It has been in the same spot for the last 2 years when I changed greenhouses. I'm not sure where it was before that. I hope I don't have to wait another 9 years to see it again.
    I selfed both flowers and they have reacted favorably. Now I just have to see if they hold on. If I get seedlings, hopefully they won't take so long to flower.

    9 year IS a long time to wait, but as you stated - very obviously worth it...I've never heard of the species...

    Gilles, it is growing in #9 Orchiata with pumice and some tree fern fiber (about 1 to 2" long).

    I had one flower this year in early December. It is now holding a capsule. I have bought quite a few of these in the last few years. They are small, but most have established quite well. I'm not expecting flowers any time soon.

    @Marni what temperature range are you growing this species in? I saw it's available on Botanica's Madagascar pre-order list but I can't find much info on this species

    FYI...I’ve been growing one for about 3 years and it may actually be initiating a bud. I have it mounted and it seems happiest with the cuthbertsonii.

    I may order one from Botanica’s thing. I wish we could get cucullata again.
