    Angraecum didieri

EDIT: After some research I have found that this is most certainly not an elefantinum but a Ang. didieri...

This lovely night fragrant African blooms for the third time in one year in my orchidarium! Just love it :)

Kiddo, you're capable to communicate with people here in ENGLISH perfectly, so there is no need to post your comments in other language. I think that is rude in many ways.

Hey, I read the rules when I joined up, I don't remember that it said "English only." Did I miss something? Do we have language police here? And is it the Queen's English you want or American English? Someone got criticized a while back for using a Canadian spelling of a word. A lot of people on this list use American slang, I don't hear complaints about that. There are lots of private jokes about incidents and people from the past that many (including you) make on the forum. I haven't got a clue what you are talking about, it might as well be a foreign language. I can't even run them through Babelfish and get a translation. Have I told you how rude that is? Not everything has to be read and understand by everyone. If you don't have the interest to ask or use a translator, that's your problem.

That is pure crap, Marni! Obvously you have something up in your ass now. What's up? I was growing up in the battle field and I can handle a person like you.
Yeah, last time I asked what it meant, the answer was "FUCK". You have not been on internet forum long, so you have a lot to catch up, don't you? This is "American forum" and 99.9999% of people here only speak and write English. If you don't want people to know what you are talking about, why bother to post?
Those American slangs are great and they are understandable if you have been on forum long enough.

This post was started by a man in Sweden. Another man in Sweden posted a 3 word reply in their common language. I would assume it was a compliment or an inside joke. Either way, it isn't a problem for me. Both Magnus and masdevallia are valuable contributing members of this forum and I would hope they would be welcomed as such. Chances are good that they know each other and it may seem very unnatural to them to speak to one another in a foreign language. I don't know how how many active members there are on this forum, but there a quite a number live outside of the US. I like exchanging information with people in other countries. I don't see why they should be discouraged from participating in ANY way they choose.

Learning the code words of the insiders by having "been on a forum long enough" is not my goal here. It isn't going to make me a better grower or help me share my knowledge. I didn't come here to join a club or be a part of the in crowd.

I think that it's really great to have members of the forum who are outside of the US.
I feel it gives me the opportunity to "see" plants, that others are growing, that I might not otherwise have access to.

And, I am in AWE of the fact that they speak or write ANY English, since I only have one language. To disparage their participation, does not improve the forum, IMHO.

Who said they were not welcome here? Both of them are great active members and they are more than welcome here. I enjoy the orchids photos that they posted.
Magnus A started this public thread in English, then why not post comments in English? If it is a private matter, then talk to each other through email or PM and I don't care what language they use.

"I think that it's really great to have members of the forum who are outside of the US. I feel it gives me the opportunity to "see" plants, that others are growing, that I might not otherwise have access to."

No arguement there. I like to see that too.

"To disparage their participation, does not improve the forum, IMHO."

Why that will discourage them to participate here? Some of them may have some trouble with English like the lovely lady from Italy but they have tried to post in English, so most of us can understand. I admire that! Masdevallia can communicate in English perfectly, so there is no reason for him to post in different language again and again.
