The classic Aerides odorata has a widespread distribution: China, Nepal, the Himalayas, Burma, Thailand, Vietnam, Peninsular Malaysia, Indonesia, and New Guinea. In the Philippines most of them are found in Palawan and Mindoro.
    The blooms are very fragrant.

Spectacular!! If my neighbor would plant this on the fence instead of the potato vine, I'd like him a lot more. I still wouldn't like him, mind you, but I would be a bit more tolerant.

    Thank you.

Yes, but the fragrance was not overpowering like that of Dendrobium anosmum.

Dave and Marni, When I saw that yesterday that was what I said, too. Even though I had been expecting it since seeing all the spikes more than a month ago. I had waited for several years for this.

Time well spent, Nelson. I can imagine walking along that fence of an evening and
enjoying the fragrance and the beauty of Aerides odorata...one of my favorite of
    the Aerides clan. Just gorgeous.

I predicted your response correctly, Angela. Hahaha.

Every year, there are two main blooming seasons: the August to September season, and the January to February season.

Aerides species are the stars of the current season.
