This is the first flowering of a division of an Aerides odorata I bought a while ago. Anyone know if it has a variety name ??

I don't know whether it has a variety name, but that is the same as the Aerides odorata from Palawan Island.

Thank for this info Nelson. Its been quoted as an "alba" or "alba" variety but its pink, this has confused me greatly.

I have several things labeled "alba" that I would call "almost alba". I think people are a bit loose with the term.

Most of Aed. odorata variety are based on where they came from. it's one of the most widely distributed aed. species and the color are quite variable, ranging from alba to pink blush to solid pink. the only form that i can think of is v. calayana, which originate from Phillippine and said to have larger flower and solid pink color.
