I was going to take a nice plant shot with its 2 spikes and healthy roots and leaves, but I broke the best spike while I was admiring it. It turns out that I haven't posted this before, even though I have grown it for a long time. It is the only aeranthes (that I know of) where all of the flowers are open at once. It does not rebloom on an old spike as some/most of the others do. The flowers are about 3/4" wide. The whole plant shot is from 4 years ago and will give you a sense of the plant.

This is beyond description and absolutely so wonderful. I wonder if a hybrid with one of the bigger flowered species would produce a more floriferous larger flowered plant. This is fantastic. Thank you for sharing.

I have plans for one hybrid with aeranthes, this might be another interesting thing to try to see what dominates.

How fascinating that they are all open at once. As you observed, none of my aeranthes spexies do that. Lovely flowers--I look forward to hearing what hybrid you make.
