The old name of A.articulata was in fact A.stylosa, this can explain why so much A.articulata are sold as A.stylosa!!
It is the same for Phalaenopsis bellina which is often so as Phalaenopsis violacea Borneo, its "old" name....

thanks Gilles, it´s really a mess among these Aerangis. I would love Joyce could look down from heaven from time to time. I really miss her as a lot of pictures of any Aerangis moved to her the last years over, carrying the question "what can it be?".
Stylosa has never been a synonym to articulata it has only been misidentified by Perrier once. I don´t know who has ever started with messing Aerangis maybe it is just a trick to sell similar things under different names for a profit´s reason. We have stylosa parked in UK and it shall come to flower in a few weeks. Regrettably can´t show you any pictures as the cam there got broken. Once more a plant which doesn´t accept to get self-ed and I do not trust in the pollinia I get offered. There´s such a mess among the Aerangis upon Europe, but you know yourself, Gilles. This situation is hardly to bear. Actually Aergs articulata is flooding half Europe being sold as stylosa and/or modesta. Hardly anyone keeps modesta but a lot keep the tag. Distincta is kept for kirkii, mystacidii and mooreana are mixed up, all curnowiana kept in cultivation here are punctatae. There´s no problem if one owns the information to label it correctly after the purchase but the problem is you cannot trust in the pollinia getting offered. It´s a lottery and that´s a shame.

I have two of them that have done rather well. And yes, they are monantha -- at least that is what both of mine bloomed out as. :)

oh, and very nice stylosa -- love it when smallish species put on a show like that.
