When the sun sets in Key West, all of Key Weird comes out to perform at Mallory Square. But that's a whole nother story. We went to see this sunset from a location I learned about this trip. There is a hotel on Duval Street named LaConcha. It's run by Westin, if I remember correctly. It is a skyscraper by Key West standards, 7 stories tall. The 7th floor is a bar and observation deck. They have live music and they don't like you you to bring your own drinks. The view is the best.

Clark, did you watch any of the performers on Mallory Square at sunset? My favorite is the Catman. He has trained his cats to walk tightropes and jump through flaming rings. He's an interesting fellow; totally wierd in his act, but interesting. In talking with him over the years, we've learned, (a) that he's quite normal...for a Frenchman, and (b) that he put his daughter through med school with the money he made in tips doing his show!

Alexis, we stayed for only one act, the guy getting out of the straight jacket and chains. The next lady wanted to eat glass which reminded us we had dinner reservations at Tin Roof.

Where is Tin Roof? Sounds familiar, but I can't place it. Was it good? We're always looking for new places to eat there.

Alexis, The Tin Roof is right before you get to the Sunset Bar at the end of Duval street and around the corner of the hotel. Look for the steps going up right before the Sunset Bar. They were good to us in letting us split the main course and the yellow tail snapper was great. We also liked Kelly's in the old Pan American place (corner of Caroline and Whitehead). Lunch one day at the Half shell Raw Bar was real nice on the harbor. I really don't care what others may think, but the conch chowder (Bahamian style) and the corn and crab chowder at Marquritiville was damn fine. Any place we tried the conch fritters, they were good.

Awright! I think we need a road trip. I, too, love the cat guy and I love all the people who weave palm fronds into bowls and hats and birds, etc. Beautiful photos, Clark. Thank you so much. I'm glad you had such a great time.
